She graduated from the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague. She specializes in commercial law, especially the law of commercial corporations. She has published several monographs in this field, is a co-author of a few textbooks of commercial law and the author of more than a hundred professional articles. She is a member of the editorial board of the professional journal Acta Universitatis Carolinae - Iuridica, the professional journal Obchodněprávní revue (published by C.H.Beck) and the professional journal Rekodifikace a praxe (published by Wolters Kluwer). In academic positions, she has been working as the head of the Department of Commercial Law, a member of the Scientific Board of the Charles University in Prague and a member of the Scientific Board of the Charles University..
She was a member of the Commission of the Legislative Council of the Government for Private Law. She worked in advocacy for more than ten years. She is an arbitrator of the Arbitration Court at the Economic Chamber of the Czech Republic and the Agrarian Chamber of the Czech Republic. She gained professional experience e.g. during her study stays at law schools in France (Paris Assas II, Toulouse), Germany (Faculty of Law, University of Passau) or Switzerland (Faculty of Law, University of Geneva).
